What is OpenAlan?

OpenAlan is an AI-powered employee that works 24/7 to handle your busywork. Unlike simple chatbots or automation tools, Alan is a proactive assistant that can manage your calendar, handle email, research topics, draft content, and execute complex multi-step workflows — all autonomously.

What tasks can Alan actually do?

Alan can handle a wide range of tasks, including:

Alan is an AI system and can occasionally make errors. For important actions (sending emails, booking meetings, making purchases), Alan will ask for confirmation before proceeding. You're always in control and can review outputs before they're finalized.

Pricing

How much does OpenAlan cost?

OpenAlan is $500/month — less than 1% of what you'd pay a human assistant with similar capabilities. There are no usage limits, no hidden fees, and no per-task charges.

Is there a free trial?

Yes! We offer a free trial so you can experience Alan firsthand. Book a demo call and we'll set you up with trial access to explore all features.

Do you offer annual plans or discounts?

Yes. Annual plans receive a 20% discount. Contact us at sales@openalan.ai for annual pricing or enterprise volume discounts.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards via Stripe. For annual enterprise plans, we can also invoice with net-30 terms.

How do I connect my accounts?

Connecting accounts is simple. From your OpenAlan dashboard, go to Integrations and click "Connect" next to any service. You'll be redirected to authorize access via OAuth — no passwords are ever shared with us directly.

Can I disconnect an integration?

Yes, you can disconnect any integration at any time from your dashboard. When disconnected, Alan immediately loses access to that service.

Data & Privacy

Is my data safe with OpenAlan?

Security is our top priority. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256). We use SOC 2 compliant infrastructure and never share your data with third parties for advertising or training purposes.

Do you use my data to train AI models?

No. By default, your conversations and data are never used to train AI models. You can optionally opt-in to contribute anonymized data to improve OpenAlan, but this is completely voluntary and revocable.

How long do you keep my data?

Conversations are retained for 90 days to provide context and history. Task history is kept for 1 year. When you cancel, all data is deleted within 30 days. You can request immediate deletion at any time.

Can I export my data?

Yes. You can export all your data at any time from your account settings. We believe your data belongs to you.

How do I get started with OpenAlan?

Getting started takes just 10 minutes:

  1. Book a demo — We'll walk you through the platform
  2. Connect your tools — Link Gmail, Calendar, Slack, etc.
  3. Start chatting — Tell Alan what you need help with

Alan learns your preferences and workflows over time, becoming more helpful the more you use him.

Do I need technical skills to use Alan?

Not at all. Alan communicates in plain English (or your preferred language). Just tell him what you need like you would tell a human assistant. No coding, no complex setup, no technical knowledge required.

How do I communicate with Alan?

You can chat with Alan through the web dashboard, Telegram (including voice messages), Slack, or wherever you prefer to work. Alan meets you where you are.

Cancellation & Refunds

How do I cancel my subscription?

You can cancel anytime from your account settings or by emailing support@openalan.ai. No phone calls, no hassle, no guilt trips. Your access continues until the end of your billing period.

What happens to my data when I cancel?

After cancellation, you have 30 days to export your data. After that, all data is permanently deleted from our systems. We don't hold your data hostage.

Can I get a refund?

Monthly plans: No refunds for partial months, but you can cancel anytime to prevent future charges.

Annual plans: Pro-rated refund available within the first 14 days of purchase.

Can I pause my subscription instead of canceling?

Not currently, but contact us at support@openalan.ai if you have a unique situation. We're flexible and want to work with you.
